How to play
How do you play Word Connections?
Select four words that you think are related. If they form a correct group, they are removed and the category is revealed. Find all four groups to win the game. You have four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
What do the colors mean in Word Connections?
Yellow indicates the easiest group with the most obvious category connections. Green is straightforward but requires some thinking. Blue is trickier and requires creative connections. Purple is the hardest group to identify and often involves wordplay or double meanings.
How is scoring calculated in Word Connections?
You earn stars based on mistakes: 0 mistakes = 3 stars (perfect), 1 mistake = 2 stars, 2 mistakes = 1 star, 3 or more mistakes = 0 stars. Your best score for each puzzle is saved automatically.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes! The Daily Challenge provides a new puzzle each day at midnight. Your progress is saved automatically, and you can play at any time. Come back daily to maintain your streak!
How do hints work in Word Connections?
The Reveal button highlights one correct word in an unsolved group. You get three hints per puzzle. Use them wisely - they can help you break through when you are stuck on a difficult connection.
