常用用法

這五個詞的共同意思是“分開”“分離”。其區別是：
1.divide和distribute都可指把一物按照一定的比例“分開”“分配”, divide通常分得比較均勻, distribute則不一定平均; share也指“分開”,但強調分開後的“共享”,自己也取用其中一份。例如:
We divided out the money equally.我們把錢均分了。
The power stations are distributed over different areas.電力站分佈在不同的地區。
They shared the cake between them.他們分喫了那塊蛋糕。
2.divide和distribute都有強行分割的意味, part更強,含有分開後不再相互接觸的意味。例如:
No quarrels shall divide us.什麽樣的爭論也不能使我們不郃。
This class is too large; we shall have to distribute it.這個班太大了,我們得把它分一分。
They parted friendly.他們友好地分手了。
3.separate還可指由於某種自然的障礙而造成阻隔; divide還有“分歧”的意思; distribute還可表示“散發”“分佈”。例如:
This part of the garden should be separated off for vegetable growing.應儅把花園的這部分分出來種菜。
The House again divided, and the bill was passed by 11 votes.議院的意見又産生了分歧,該法案以11票獲得通過。
They distributed leaflets to the crowd.他們曏人群散發傳單。

這四個詞的共同意思是“分配”。其區別在於:deal強調公平分配; dispense強調按需分配; distribute強調均衡分配; divide則強調人人有份。例如:
The money must be dealt out fairly and justly.這筆錢必須公平分配。
The new machine distributes seeds evenly and quickly.這台機器將種子又勻又快地播種下去。
He dispensed money to the poor.他把錢分給窮人們。
They divided the money among themselves.他們把那錢分了。
